Golden Mask in the City

Golden Mask in the City is a unique festival of street theatre within the framework of the Golden Mask Festival. The theatre goes out into the streets and becomes part of ordinary life, turning it into a celebration. The project brings theatre closer to devoted spectators and to a wider audience. For a brief time, any place in the city may become a performance space – be it a street, a park, a café, a library or a school. Anyone who happens to turn up in the “right place” at the “right time” can get involved in a surprising theatrical performance or an exhibition, or a scene from a performance.

Initiated in 2014, Golden Mask in the City is getting increasingly popular among the Muscovites.
