Vladimir Ageyev


Graduated from the Department of Directing at GITIS/Russian Theatre Academy in 1993 (mentor Anatoli Vasiliev). In 1995 he founded and headed Epigone-Theatre where he staged “Rayuela” by Julio Cortázar and Turgenev’s “A Month in the Country”. His other stagings include Henrik Ibsen’s “The Lady from the Sea” (Penza Drama Theatre, 1999); “Le Triomphe de l'amour” (“Triumph of Love”) by Pierre de Marivaux (Yekaterinburg Drama Theatre, 2000); “Moskauzee” by A. Vishnevsky (theatre project “Moscow – the Open City, 2000); Henrik Ibsen’s “Madam de Satov” (Red Torch Theatre in Novosibirsk, 2000); “Antigone” by Jean Anouilh (Pushkin Theatre, 2001); “Minetti” by Thomas Bernhard (Playwriting and Directing Center, 2003); “Love for English Mint” by Marguerite Duras (Independent Theatre Project, 2003). The productions of “Lady from the Sea”, “Madam de Satov” and “Triomphe de l’amour” have been nominated for Golden Mask National Theatre Award. His production of “The Captured Spirits” took the Golden Mask Award in ”Viewers’ Choice” nomination.
